President & Founder
Colleen founded SistaSoccer, Inc. while obtaining her Master's degree in Hawaii. After multiple knee surgeries during her professional career playing in the NWSL for the Washington Spirit; two ACL tears, two MCL tears, and three meniscus tears her playing career came to an end. However, she couldn't resist spreading the beautiful sport to girls all over the world. She was a three-time All-American, two-time Academic All-American college athlete that was drafted to play professionally in the states and was able to represent the U-23 National team on two separate occasions.
"Soccer was my first love. I owe my playful free spirit, passion for life, drive and determination to soccer. It gave me the utmost confidence through tricky adolescent teenage years and bonded me with teammates that I will one day call bridesmaids. Every child deserves the opportunity to play and laugh through the sport of soccer."
Julie grew up playing on the same club team as Colleen and Alysha. Their club team, FC Bucks Vipers won eight state championships, a national championship, and had fifteen players receive Division 1 scholarships to play in college. Julie played soccer for The University of Hartford and graduated with the job of her dreams as a special education teacher for elementary school students. She obtained her Master's degree in Reading and Language Arts while juggling a full-time job.
"I go into my job each day with a positive mindset and instill everything I learned through soccer into each day. Whether it's on the field or off, competitiveness, flexibility, work ethic, and most importantly, team work have become my philosophy. Teaching children through what I learned through soccer is my biggest accomplishment. I am forever grateful for the sport that not only taught me who I am, but gave me my best friends and kept me motivated to be a better me. I'm privileged for the opportunity to spread SistaSoccer, Inc.'s philosophy!"
Alysha grew up playing soccer on both the same club as Julie and Colleen. Over a decade of playing together their club team FC Bucks Vipers won eight state championships, eight regional championships, and a national championship. Colleen and Alysha then went on to play soccer together at the University of Dayton, where they won three divisional titles and each earned numerous regional and national accolades. After graduating, Alysha began working at TEKsystems, an IT sales organization, in Baltimore where she has successfully brought in over a million dollars in revenue each year she has worked for the company since joining in 2013.
“In playing soccer, I was able to learn that determination, perseverance and work ethic can help define you as a person. Soccer helped me to realize that not every practice or game may go your way but if you keep working, growing and pushing yourself you will eventually win. I was able to grow up playing the sport I loved, with friends that I now call family and it has helped me to find success professionally and personally. Our goal at SistaSoccer, is to help spread the love of soccer, the joy it brings and the foundations that will carry anyone to find success in life.”
Terry and her husband David raised four children, all involved in competitive soccer over the years. They believed sports provided a positive outlet for teenagers, while simultaneously instilling valuable life lessons. They sacrificed time, energy, and money to have all of their children play sports. Terry has her BS from The College of New Jersey. She has been a nursery school teacher for nearly twenty years and loves being surrounded by children.
“I believe life is better with sports. I made it a priority to have my children play while growing up and I think every child should have the opportunity to play soccer; finances and difficult family circumstances should not be barriers for this. SistaSoccer will give children the chance to play, laugh, and enjoy sport.”
Sharon resides in McLean, Virginia with her two children and husband Michael.
